After a successful debut season in 1967, the Lotus 49 was revised significantly during 1968 and appeared in a number of forms including with experimental high wings fitted.

The technical changes were mostly to suspension and the kit designers have included the forward swept wishbones and correct rear suspension mountings.

At the rear there is a choice of uprights, with the decals offering options of races with the high mounted rear wing fitted directly to the suspension or a more conventional location on the rear chassis.

The suspension parts are all well detailed, as is the exposed engine and Hewland transaxle.

The races offered on the kit decals are actually from 1969, with the high wing option being the non-Championship Race of Champions, where Hill finished second from pole and Rindt set fastest lap, or, of  the US GP which is where the low wing setup was used, Rindt winning this race.

The gold nose sections are included on the decal, as are the lower white side panels (the instructions suggesting these as an option if you don’t fancy a two-tone paint finish).

The decals are clearly printed and almost complete, but you will need aftermarket items to complete the title sponsor’s logos.
